Is this a custom show or ambient background entertainment?

A Hana Luau is a full custom show with a start, middle & closing fire number, not background dancers circulating a room. We build the run of show around your event's timing, stage or floor space & audience size before we ever confirm a date.

Is this authentic, or a themed party kit with rented costumes?

It's a real production. Our dancers come from the islands they represent, trained by their own instructors & we credit them by name & origin on every show. The Samoan Fire-Knife dance is performed in honor of Freddie Letuli, who created it in 1964. No stock luau kit, no generic emcee script.

Who handles fire licensing & permits?

We do. We hold our Fire License in multiple states, carry $5 million in insurance & pull the public fire permit ourselves where one is required. Permit fees are billed to the client & we'll send a certificate of insurance (COI) to your venue on request.

What's actually included in a Hana Luau package?

Every package includes the dancers, live drumming, an emcee who runs the story & pulls guests up to learn Hawaiian or Tahitian dance basics & the Samoan Fire-Knife closer. Larger packages add live musicians & a lei greeting. Full productions can extend to venue, food & custom music coordination.

How far out should we book?

We ask for 30 days notice on a Nalu-size show & 60 days on a Nui-size corporate package. Smaller Keiki shows can often move faster. Out of state shows & anything requiring a fire permit need more lead time, so the earlier you call, the more room we have to build it right.

What's the budget range?

Our Keiki show starts at $3,333, Nalu at $6,888 & Nui, our most-selected corporate package, at $9,999. Out of state shows run 50% above local rate. If your budget is tighter, call us: we can often send one or two performers instead of the full cast.

A Hana Luau is a full stage show, not a themed party kit: real dancers from across the Pacific, a Samoan Fire-Knife closer & guests taught to dance with the cast.

Dancers featured on this page are a collaboration between Hana Events + Experiences, Malialole & Ali'itasi. We always credit our dancers by origin & instructor.

For larger events we build the full production: venue, food & custom music alongside character & story development, with an Emcee who guides the story & runs the flow of the night.

We hold our Fire License in multiple states & carry $5 million in insurance to protect your venue. We can send additional insured documents (COI) on request.

Shows more than 50 miles from our home base are billed mileage at $0.65 per mile. If a show runs late & performers can't get home safely, we book an Airbnb or hotel to keep them safe.

Out of state shows are billed at 50% above our local rate, to cover travel time & time away from family & day jobs. Permit fees for a public fire show are billed to the client.

For smaller budgets, call us. We can often send one or two performers instead of the full show. Ask about payment plans on larger packages. Full payment is due on or before the performance date.
